This one hurts. I didn't care that they got the 300 LB Lefty. I didn't care when they got the second coming of Carl Pavano. Now, they have Teixeira and I am worried. No, they Yankees aren't ruining baseball by spending more money then everyone, but, this blow definitely will make the tough AL East even tougher. It should come to no surprise Teixeira went to the Yankees they had the most money and a need at 1st base, I hate myself for being so foolish.
My next question, what is Theo's next move?

Same thing it always was, and should be, a catcher and another starting pitcher.
Pretty thin on both of those fronts. They'll probably pick up Lowe and then maybe V-Tek with an extreme discount since that was one client Boras overplayed his hand with big time. Or they could make a trade but Theo is always really careful with his youngsters.
I think Varitek will come back as a part time player, so they will sign another catcher as well.
As for pitching, I just can't see them signing Lowe. They didn't want to pay him 4 years ago, why would they pay him now? I think they leave it late, then make a trade no one sees coming. Jake Peavy anyone?
Peavy wouldn't see that coming either. I don't think there is anyway he would waive his no trade clause to come anywhere near the northeast.
I agree with you about Lowe, Dennis. They could have had him four years younger and a lot cheaper after '04 and they didn't do it then.
