Redskins Reach Nadir

Washington's offense is even more pathetic than I thought. Only 13 points against the Bengals? Though their playoff chances were slim going into this week, I figured they would at least give it the old college try. Instead they spot Cincinnati a 17-0 lead.

I really hope that this doesn't prompt Dan Snyder to try to coax Bill Cowher out of retirement. I have a lot of respect for the guy and I think he's a good coach, but his brand of football drives me crazy. I've had my fill of three-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust from the Redskins over the years, thank you. I've said it before. Washington desperately needs someone explosive on offense.

To be fair, Portis would be pretty explosive if he weren't bionic man out there, the guy is playing on about half of one leg.

what if they traded for McNabb or signed Cassell? I think you are stuck averaging 17-20 pts a game with Campbell no matter who his receivers are.

Trust me. I love Clinton Portis. But without receivers there's always going to be 8 in the box. I disagree about Campbell. He's been very efficient this year. Moss and Randle-El are complementary WR's and that's all. Washington needs a big target. Hey, TO has destroyed 2 NFC East teams. Maybe Mr. Snyder can make a trade.

all I have to say is, as a giant fan, I will never be afraid of the skins while Jason Campbell is their quarterback.

I think Moss is OK as your lead receiver, but Randle-El is a third receiver. What you need is a second guy to be a deep threat. TO does not fill that need, he is a possession guy.

I wouldn't call TO a possession guy. That has a negative connotation. Granted, he doesn't have blazing speed, but he is very capable of breaking tackles, making big plays and scoring touchdowns. That being said, I was only kidding. I have no interest in a 35-year-old, clubhouse cancer on my team.
