Sleepwalking

So the Sox magic number for the wild card is down to one, but will they ever get there? And what will actually come of it really? Boston is limping their way into the post season, content to watch the Rangers eventually lose enough games rather than take charge of their own destiny and win a couple. I don't see how the Red Sox can make any type of post season run with all of the lackadaisical play recently. It's extremely difficult to turn the intensity on and off on a whim. I just see them developing a real lack of focus, and they have shown no sense of urgency the entire month of September.

The Sox have just grown lazy, having been muscled out of the divisional race long ago and having all but clinched the AL wild card for quite some time as well. That leaves them in no man's land with no significant team goal to shoot for. I know they had no realistic shot at the division, but their performance against the Yankees over the weekend was utterly pathetic and uninspiring. I will be very surprised if they make it out of the first round of the playoffs.

They were in every game this weekend and were only a few plays away from winning 2 of 3. It will all come down to how the starters perform. So they can relax. If they can win 1 game in LA then they should fine. They do have the best home record in baseball. The real season starts in 8 days. Get out the antacids.

And the alarm clocks! I need to be woken up every couple innings during the 7 hour AL marathon playoff games.

How about Carl Pavano, my Boy! Coming back on 3 days rest to clinch a one game playoff by winning his 14th game of the season, one more than Mr. Burnett of New York!

Yea awesome season for the American Idle. 5.10 ERA and 235 hits in less than 200 innings pitched.

Good thing he managed to stifle those juggernaut Royals with 5.2 innings of dominant 4 runs ball to save the season. Into the annals with Jack Morris is where he will surely go.

What an awful picther.

Man, I know there are a lot of vineyards in CT, but I didn't realize the grapes were so sour.

Yeah they got there. The Red Sox can seem real bad at times this season. Occasionally they just look disinterested.
