In the year 2013...

...assuming the world hasn't ended in 2012 per the Mayan calendar, we will finally have flying cars, food will come in pill form, and this will happen to the Yankees.

I really enjoy reading Joe Posnanski, but this article is a swing and miss. People continue to discuss the Yankees age as a problem. It seems that everyone forgets that from 2005-2008 this team was much older and they still were one of the top 2 or 3 teams in baseball in each of those years. This team is younger and has a more talent and a better farm system to hold up those older players. Yea they have close to $130 million tied up in 6 players (Posnanski failed to distinguish players with options not guaranteed years i.e. Granderson) plus a few arbitration raises, but $70 million plus is more than enough to fill out the remaining roster.

Oh and fyi, they have $50 million in expiring contracts after that season. Bye-bye Jeter, Burnett and Soriano.
