Given the current economy, this might finally be the year Boras really gets screwed on one of his big guys.Dennishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00742159228200876688noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6780276584364604867.post-83267068960160203402008-12-19T11:38:00.000-05:002008-12-19T11:38:00.000-05:00I think the sox reported offer of 8 years $180 mil...I think the sox reported offer of 8 years $180 million would be the highest offer and boras is bluffing. John Henry is now calling this bluff. Why else would he call ESPN to say they are out of the running? Something is up, and I would believe the Red Sox before I believed BorasJoehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07243315072384918852noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6780276584364604867.post-16763388368447351272008-12-19T09:15:00.000-05:002008-12-19T09:15:00.000-05:00Also, Why would Theo want to tip his hand anyway? Also, Why would Theo want to tip his hand anyway?Danhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05548707517391398364noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6780276584364604867.post-49827226120783668242008-12-19T09:12:00.000-05:002008-12-19T09:12:00.000-05:00I was hoping against hope that they would get Tex....I was hoping against hope that they would get Tex. Though he wouldn't 'fit' in the lineup that would be a nice problem to have. I bet they will still try to bolster the pitching in some way. Although signing Lowe for example would be weird. They wouldn't pay him in '04 and their going to pay him now that he's five years older? Doesn't make sense.Danhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05548707517391398364noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6780276584364604867.post-28717712513512372672008-12-19T08:30:00.000-05:002008-12-19T08:30:00.000-05:00I disagree. With Dice-K that price ended up being a lot more than everyone else, but sometimes it is a lot less. Besides, I would hardly say that calling Scott Boras' bluff is a shadowy move.Dennishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00742159228200876688noreply@blogger.com
